Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya left Sri Lanka this morning, January 19, to attend the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, according to the PM’s Office. This year's WEF meeting runs from today until January 23, 2026. The theme for the World Economic Forum 2026 is “A Spirit of Dialogue.” It will gather more than 3,000 leaders from around the world, including heads of state, government officials, top CEOs from major global companies, policymakers, and technology innovators. During her trip, the Prime Minister plans to have several important meetings with international leaders, heads of global organizations, and other notable figures, as stated in the announcement.
