Today, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will meet with several trade unions from the education sector. This meeting, taking place on the 13th, will focus on issues related to the new education reforms. However, some education unions claim that only a select few unions supportive of the government have been invited to join the talks. In recent days, various groups have raised strong concerns about the materials associated with the new education reforms. They pointed out that some websites included are not suitable for children and there are multiple mistakes in the content. Protesters believe that these reforms should be put on hold and a thorough and inclusive reform process should be conducted with input from all necessary parties.
