China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, landed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake early this morning (12) during a stop on his way back to China after visiting South Africa. Minister Wang Yi was traveling with a delegation of 17 members as he returned from Durban. The delegation was greeted at the airport by Qi Zhenhong, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, along with senior officials from the Chinese Embassy. From the Sri Lankan side, Savitri Panabokke, the Director General of the East Asia and Oceania Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other ministry officials also welcomed the group. The Chinese Foreign Minister and his delegation are set to leave Sri Lanka for China later today.
