This statement comes after Donald Trump’s warning last night that if Iran does not “fully open” the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the US will “hit and obliterate their power plants.” Following Iran's actions to halt maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, global oil prices have surged significantly.
