Fifteen people have been arrested in Sri Lanka for their connections to foreign organized crime groups. They were found with sharp weapons and crystal methamphetamine known as ‘Ice’. The police operation took place this morning (21) at a housing complex near the Ratmalana Dedicated Economic Centre. Officers from the Mount Lavinia Divisional Crimes Investigation Bureau seized five swords and 40 grams of ‘Ice,’ which is worth about Rs. 800,000. Investigators discovered that the suspects have strong ties to two individuals: Ellawala Dharmasiri Perera, also known as “Alto Dharmaya,” and Kuruwita Arachchilage Kavindu Dhananjaya. Both are part of crime gangs based abroad. Among those arrested is a woman, and they are set to appear in the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
