The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has confirmed that fuel distribution to dealers will proceed as planned tomorrow and the day after. Mayura Neththikumara, the Managing Director of the CPC, stated that there has been no decision to shut down filling stations during this time. He addressed social media rumors about a possible closure of the corporation this Saturday, explaining that these claims might stem from the usual practice of the CPC being closed one Saturday each month. However, he stressed that, considering the current situation and the scheduled update of the QR code fuel quotas on Saturday night, the corporation will remain fully operational. Neththikumara also mentioned that if needed, fuel distribution could take place on Sunday, as there are no logistical issues preventing it. Additionally, the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) plans to conduct distribution operations this Saturday to ensure a steady fuel supply. The CPC Managing Director urged the public to refrain from panic buying, reassuring that there are no plans to close filling stations tomorrow or the next day and that fuel supplies will continue without interruption.
