A man was arrested by Sri Lanka Police in the Salmalyaya area of Katuwewa, Hambantota, for illegally storing nearly 500 litres of fuel. The police acted on a tip from the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit to carry out the raid. Officers found over 480 litres of diesel and almost 20 litres of petrol hidden in the man's home. The suspect and the confiscated fuel will be presented in front of the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court.
