Fire contained in vicinity of Dubai airport after drone attack, flights suspended
A fire ignited by a drone attack on Monday close to Dubai International Airport has been controlled, with no injuries reported. However, flights were temporarily halted, according to Dubai officials. The Dubai media office shared on X that “a drone incident in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) impacted one of the fuel tanks.” Emirates airline confirmed on X that flights to and from Dubai were suspended. Since the U.S.-Israeli conflict over Iran began on February 28, Gulf Arab nations have experienced over 2,000 missile and drone strikes. These attacks have targeted U.S. diplomatic sites and military bases, as well as vital Gulf oil facilities, ports, airports, hotels, and both residential and office buildings. The United Arab Emirates, which established ties with Israel, Iran’s rival, in 2020, has been significantly affected by these attacks. All Gulf Arab countries are experiencing the impact and have collectively condemned Iran.
