A police constable from the Kosgoda Police Station has been taken into custody for allegedly using a bank card belonging to a suspect who was arrested for heroin trafficking. This suspect had been remanded in connection with the charges. The Galle District Crimes Division conducted the arrest. According to the police, the constable is accused of spending over Rs. 600,000 to buy a motorcycle and various items from a supermarket. Authorities indicated that more arrests may follow as the investigation continues. The Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Southern Province is overseeing the case, with guidance from the Director of the Galle District Crime Division.
