An explosion was reported over Dubai airport on Saturday, with a witness telling AFP they saw smoke in the sky as Iran continued its assaults across the Gulf. The Flightradar24 site revealed that planes were circling above the airport, appearing to be in a holding pattern. Despite ongoing drone attacks in the United Arab Emirates, limited flights resumed at Dubai's main airport, the busiest in the world for international travel, on Monday. The Dubai Media Office labeled the event as “a minor incident caused by falling debris after an interception” in a post on X, while also refuting other rumors about the airport. Last Saturday, four staff members were injured and a concourse at Dubai airport was damaged as conflict escalated following US-Israeli strikes on Iran. At that time, Dubai Airports stated the situation was “quickly contained” but did not provide additional details. Iranian assaults have also targeted Abu Dhabi airport, the luxury Palm Jumeirah area, and the Burj Al Arab hotel, and drone debris sparked a fire at the US consulate in Dubai on Tuesday.
