If they rise, they rise - Trump says he s not concerned about rising gas prices amid Iran war
US President Donald Trump stated that he is not worried about the increasing petrol prices in the United States due to the ongoing conflict with Iran. He emphasized that his main priority is the military campaign. In an interview with Reuters, Trump mentioned that the rise in fuel costs linked to Middle Eastern tensions is not something he is focused on and believes prices will decrease after the conflict ends. "I don’t have any concern about it," he said when questioned about the higher costs at gas stations. "They’ll drop very rapidly when this is over, and if they rise, they rise, but this is far more important than having gasoline prices go up a little bit," Trump told Reuters. Since the conflict started, global oil prices have gone up, raising fears about potential supply issues in the Middle East. This region is a key source of oil exports, and rising tensions can disrupt shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for global oil transport. The American Automobile Association reported that the average petrol price in the US has climbed by 27 cents over the past week to approximately $3.25 per gallon, which is about 15 cents higher than the same time last year. Trump remarked that the increase is not significant, stating, "They haven’t risen very much," during his interview with Reuters.
