Benjamin Netanyahu fears US and Iran holding secret talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is worried that the US might be having secret discussions with Iran without informing him. Reports indicate that he reached out to the White House after receiving information that Donald Trump's administration was in talks with Iran about a possible ceasefire, as reported by Axios. A source mentioned, “The White House assured [Mr. Netanyahu] that the Trump administration was not engaging with the Iranians without his knowledge.” This situation suggests there could be tension between the two allies, who conducted joint military strikes against Iran's regime last Saturday. Netanyahu seems to fear that the conflict with Iran might conclude before Israel meets its military goals. The New York Times states that Iranian intelligence contacted the CIA on Sunday to talk about terms for ending the conflict. However, the US is said to have been doubtful about this offer. The next day, Netanyahu reportedly contacted the White House and received confirmation that no discussions or messages had occurred. A US official noted that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the American peace envoys who previously attempted unsuccessful negotiations to limit Iran's nuclear program, are in daily communication with Mr. Netanyahu.
