Iran will not negotiate with US - Top Iranian official
Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Ali Larijani, firmly rejected on Monday any claims that Tehran was looking to restart talks with Washington. He stated that Iran will not hold discussions with the US. Larijani made this announcement through a post on the social media platform X, addressing reports that suggested new initiatives for negotiations with the US. He referred to a report by Al Jazeera, which quoted The Wall Street Journal, claiming that he had tried to revive talks with Washington through Oman. He emphasized, “We will not negotiate with the US.” In another post, Larijani responded to comments made by US President Donald Trump regarding Iran. He criticized Trump for creating chaos in the region with what he called “empty illusions.” Larijani pointed out that Trump seems to be concerned about the potential loss of more American soldiers. He accused Trump of changing the phrase “America First” to “Israel First,” suggesting that American troops have been sacrificed for Israel's ambitions. Additionally, he claimed that Trump is making American soldiers and their families suffer due to new lies. A recent US-Israeli military operation, which began on Saturday, has resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has conducted drone and missile strikes aimed at Gulf countries. The conflict has also led to the deaths of three US service members and left five others seriously injured.
