Flights to and from the Middle East are stopped until midnight (02) due to ongoing tensions, confirmed Anura Karunathilaka, the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation. While some airspaces are still open, they are only allowing a few flights. The minister mentioned that a decision on when to resume normal operations will be made after midnight. He also stated that steps are being taken to bring back Sri Lankans who are stuck at different airports in the Middle East. Additionally, tourists who planned to leave Sri Lanka have been given visa extensions and other support so they can stay if needed. The minister assured that naval operations are unaffected. Several ships scheduled to dock at Colombo and Hambantota ports have asked for docking services, and authorities are ready to help as needed, according to Minister Karunathilaka.
