A man and a woman have been arrested for allegedly helping in a deadly shooting that injured five people at a barbershop in the Jinthupitiya area. Investigators found that the male suspect drove the three-wheeler used by the shooter to escape the scene with the gun after the incident. The female suspect is accused of providing assistance during the crime. The shooting took place on February 14, prompting the Colombo North Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau to start their investigations. The suspects were arrested on the 27th, with the male suspect captured in Sooriyapaluwa, Kadawatha, and the female suspect in Weheragodella, Wellampitiya, according to police reports. Authorities noted that the male suspect, 44 years old and living in Sedawatta, was found with 6 grams and 540 milligrams of Crystal Methamphetamine, known as ‘Ice’. The 29-year-old female suspect from Weheragodella had 3 grams and 100 milligrams of ‘Ice’. Both suspects were taken to the Foreshore Police Station. Police plan to request a seven-day detention order for each suspect. The Foreshore Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
