Sri Lanka Police has launched a new online platform called “Tell IGP” to allow people to report complaints directly to the Inspector General of Police (IGP). According to the Police Media Division, this program is currently active and will be improved and expanded in 2026. The service is open to both local and foreign users, enabling them to submit complaints in Sinhala, Tamil, or English. The statement mentioned that an online system is set up to help with these submissions. Through this platform, the public can inform the IGP about individuals involved in organized crime, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities, whether in Sri Lanka or abroad. It also accepts complaints about general offenses, traffic issues, public harassment, and corruption. Once a complaint is received, the relevant division alerts the appropriate police station, and investigation officers are quickly assigned to respond. If a complainant feels their issue was not properly handled, they can use the service again to contact the IGP. The public can access this service via the official Sri Lanka Police website at www.police.lk through the e-services portal, at the address “Tell Inspector General of Police” (https://telligp.police.lk), or by emailing telligp@police.gov.lk.
