Colombo residential land prices rise by 12.4% in second half of 2025
In the Colombo District, residential land prices saw a rise of 12.4% in the latter half of 2025 compared to the same time last year. Commercial land prices also increased, climbing by 11.3%, as reported by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. The Land Valuation Indicator (LVI) for the Colombo District went up by 10.6% in the second half of 2025 when compared to the second half of 2024. This growth was noted across all categories of the LVI, specifically Residential, Commercial, and Industrial, which recorded yearly increases of 12.4%, 11.3%, and 8.0%, respectively. Additionally, the LVI and its categories experienced moderate growth on a semi-annual basis in the latter half of 2025 compared to the first half of that year. The increases for Commercial and Residential LVIs were greater than those seen in the first half of 2025, according to the Central Bank's findings.
