A 63-year-old man from Colombo 13 was arrested on January 29 for his involvement in the shooting that took place on the night of January 16 in Jinthupitiya, part of the Foreshore Police Division. This shooting resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man, with a young boy and girl injured and taken to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo. Initial investigations showed that a group arrived at the scene in a three-wheeler and fled right after the shooting. The suspect was taken into custody in the Hettiyawatta area, and the three-wheeler believed to be used in the crime was also seized by police. The suspect is expected to appear in the No. 05 Magistrate’s Court at the Aluthkade Courts Complex today, January 30. The Foreshore Police are continuing their investigation into this incident.
