A draft charter for the Gaza "Board of Peace" was sent to around 60 countries by the Trump administration in the United States. It reportedly states that members must pay US$ 1 billion in cash if they want to keep their membership for more than three years. On Sunday, excerpts from this document were released by Reuters. It noted that "each member state shall serve a term of no more than three years from this charter’s entry into force, subject to renewal by the chairman." However, it also mentioned that “the three-year membership term shall not apply to member states that contribute more than US $ 1 billion in cash funds to the board of peace within the first year of the charter’s entry into force.” The White House clarified that there is no minimum fee to join the "Board of Peace." They stated, “This simply offers permanent membership to partner countries who demonstrate deep commitment to peace, security, and prosperity,” via a post on X. On Friday, US President Donald Trump revealed some of the members of the Gaza "Board of Peace," which will manage the transitional government in the conflict-ridden Palestinian area. Who is invited to join this board? The White House explained that the board will consist of three parts: a main board led by Trump, a Palestinian committee of experts to govern the troubled territory, and a second “executive board” to provide advice.
