The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has scheduled the case against Neville Wanniarachchi, who served as the Chief Security Officer for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, for June 9. Currently, Wanniarachchi is being investigated for allegedly acquiring assets worth more than Rs. 28 million unlawfully. He appeared in court when the proceedings began today, according to an Ada Derana reporter. During the hearing, representatives from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) informed the court that their investigation into the matter is still in progress. The Commission asked for more time to provide an update on the investigation's status. The Magistrate then set the next court date for June 9 and instructed CIABOC to present a detailed report on the investigation by that hearing date.
