The Department of Meteorology reported that the current rainy weather in Sri Lanka is likely to lessen starting tomorrow, the 15th. There may still be some light rain in the Uva, Eastern, and Central provinces. In the Western province, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, and Rathnapura, showers or thundershowers might happen in the afternoon, after 2:00 p.m. Other areas will mostly have clear skies, according to the Met Department. During the early morning hours, mist is expected in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts. The public is advised to take precautions against strong localized winds and lightning during thundershowers. Additionally, there will be some rain in the sea areas along the coast from Kankasanthurai to Pottuvil, passing through Trincomalee. In the evening or night, showers or thundershowers could also occur in other sea areas around the island. The winds will be coming from the northeast, with speeds between 25 and 35 km/h, according to the Met Department.
