New details have come to light about the shooting death of a showroom manager in Ambalangoda. Joint investigations by the Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Galle District Crimes Division have uncovered that the murder was planned by an underworld figure known as ‘Karandeniya Sudda,’ who is thought to be hiding abroad. The showroom manager was killed inside his workplace on December 22, 2025. Several police teams have been looking into this case, and recently, the Police Special Task Force arrested two suspects in the Kiribathgoda area. During questioning, the suspects admitted they helped arrange transport for the shooters and aided in their escape. They also stated that ‘Karandeniya Sudda’ ordered the murder. Following this, three more suspects were taken into custody during a joint operation by the STF and the Galle District Crimes Division. The interrogations led to finding a motorcycle that was allegedly used in the murder, as well as details about a woman who provided the gun used in the shooting. The woman, who lives in Hikkaduwa, has been arrested, according to police reports.
