Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has urged everyone in Sri Lanka to come together with love and compassion to create a better future. In her Christmas Day message, she emphasized the importance of unity and responsibility among citizens. She highlighted how, during this holiday season, people have put aside their differences to support those affected by the recent natural disaster. In her Christmas message for 2025, Prime Minister Amarasuriya reflected on how December is a time when Christians prepare to celebrate Christmas, honoring the peace that began with the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. However, this year, the arrival of December brings sadness and hardship for many due to the disaster that has impacted the nation. Despite these challenges, the people of Sri Lanka have come together in solidarity, showing love and compassion as they help those in need. This unity reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ to care for one another. The Prime Minister called for all communities to join forces with a shared goal and responsibility to rebuild the nation and work towards a brighter future. She reaffirmed her commitment to building the “new country” that many expect from the government, ensuring that the hopes and dreams of the people are realized.
