An investigation has been started by the police regarding a confrontation between taxi drivers from different regions and local taxi drivers in the Ella tourist area, which was recorded on video. The footage that is spreading on social media shows two police officers advising taxi drivers from other locations on how to operate in Ella. In response, Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler mentioned that the two officers involved have been moved from the Ella Police Station to the Bandarawela Police Station as part of disciplinary measures.
