Julie Chung, the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, praised American companies and institutions for their help in Sri Lanka's recovery after Cyclone Ditwah. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), she mentioned that organizations like Starlink and Microsoft, along with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), are playing important roles in relief efforts. Starlink is offering free service to both new and existing customers until the end of December 2025 and has donated 145 Starlink units to improve disaster response. At the same time, Microsoft and MIT are working together on a program to gather accurate information about businesses and properties that were affected by the cyclone. Ambassador Chung remarked that these initiatives show "the best of American innovation and our culture of partnership and philanthropy," highlighting the continued support from US groups to aid Sri Lanka in its recovery.
