LNP – Delay in fuel distribution inevitable during protest: Ananda Palitha

There could be a delay in fuel distribution due to the protest scheduled to be held today, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation’s (CPC) Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya wing (JSS) Secretary Ananda Palitha said.

He said the CPC protest will be held to extend their solidarity to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) United Trade Union Alliance in front of the CEB head quarters today.

Accordingly, the CPC employees are scheduled to stage a protest opposite the Sapugaskanda refinery and the Kolonnawa petroleum storage complex.

“We will stage the protest at noon today, the day of the protest, the workplace battle starts for the protection of national hubs,” he said.

“We are using our trade union as a weapon, if the government does not bow to the referendum. Reluctantly, not only for the country’s lock-down, we will not hesitate to move the country to a shutdown for the sovereignty of the people and the country, “Ananda Palitha said.
