Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says public issues will be resolved whilst the country will move progressively forward through a new initiative.
The Prime Minister said the new program will be implemented in the near future.
Speaking at an event in Thalawathugoda the Premier said the new initiative was discussed with the President.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the program was also discussed and ideas exchanged with a group of Ministers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the United National Party.
Premier Wickremesinghe said the objective of the new initiative is to take the country forward.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said at present Sri Lanka cannot be considered a low income country.
The Premier however said Sri Lanka which is presently identified as a middle income country could be identified as a higher middle income country in the future.
The Prime Minister said the country is currently being prepared for such a change.
