O/Level student uses Viber & Imo for maths paper

Police have launched an investigation into a student who sat the mathematics paper of the 2017 Ordinary Level Examination with his mobile phone.

The student is believed to have used the Viber and Imo applications to answer questions.

Initial investigations revealed the student of a school in Anuradhapura, had taken pictures of the question paper and sent it to a friend through Viber and Imo.

The answers to the questions were sent back to the students.

The invigilator who observed the student’s actions lodged a complaint with the police.

Police said the student and the invigilator were both escorted to another school in Anuradhapura in order to conduct investigations.
