No.1 UNP fan Kiwi should be able to answer the above question.

To be honest, I used to vote UNP when I lived there. I will return when I retire in 5 or 6 years time. I hope UNP will be reformed by then.

    Mr. DONP

[The good old United National Party.]

    Could you elaborate this please?

Well.....my first vote in 1988 was for the UNP... but did not vote for RP. Thereafter in 1994 I voted for CBK and the PA. AFter that I have NEVER voted for anyone, reason being that either at election time I was out of the country or if I happened to be in the country at a time of an election I ALWAYS spoilt my vote.

That`s about it for me being a `fan of the UNP`! As for the RW vs SP bara bara.....I have no idea at all!

However, until that lousy idiot Ranil remains as the leader of the UNP and he has those equally good for nothing hangers on as his right hand men...the UNP will ALWAYS be the main opposition party in Sri Lanka unless thrown out of that positon too!!

Till I see some credible capable people in the UNP who are proving themselves as an effective opposition and do work while in the opposition proving themselves as a better alternative to MR and the UPFA, the UNP will NOT have my vote even in the wildest of dreams!

I have never voted for UNP but, I (used to) respect UNP as a political party which is capable of governing Sri Lanka or which could always make (and lead) a strong opposition when not in power. And I believe that we need such a serious opposition in a Democracy, at least something as good as what the UNP used to be - not a party hijacked by a bunch of jokers with another Keselwatta/Dematagoda product carving out strategies to grab the reins from them.
