All public services at the Department for Registration of Persons in Sri Lanka, which were halted today (March 24) because of a system failure, have now resumed. The services are back to normal after a computer issue caused a temporary disruption across the island. The Department announced that all services, including the one-day service for National Identity Cards (NICs), are now available again following the brief suspension caused by the sudden system breakdown. According to the department, all public services were reinstated today at 11:00 a.m. The technical problem started on March 23, leading the department to pause operations earlier today. During the pause, many people gathered at the department's location from early morning, creating a situation of unrest and tension.
