A new feature is now available in the system as of today (19) to help people in Sri Lanka who face challenges getting the QR code for their previously registered vehicles. This issue often occurs when the mobile phone number used during the original registration is no longer active. Many individuals who have bought a vehicle or changed their phone number have struggled to remove the old registration (Reset/Override) and register again with a new number. The Ministry of Digital Economy stated that this new method removes those obstacles, making it easier for users to get their fuel QR codes. The feature allows the rightful vehicle owner to obtain the QR code without hassle, especially when the vehicle was registered under someone else or linked to inactive phone numbers, the ministry explained.
