The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has declared that it will stop collecting vehicle parking fees in its area until further notice. Deputy Mayor Hemantha Weerakoon shared that this decision was made during a special meeting today, on the 18th. He mentioned that the goal of this action is to help ease the heavy financial strain the public is experiencing due to ongoing global conflicts and economic issues. The Deputy Mayor also pointed out that parking fees, which were previously collected from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, have now been put on hold until further notice.
