A large fire occurred late Wednesday night at a fish market in Matiala village, located in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The blaze ignited around 11:50 pm as vendors were closing their stalls. The flames quickly spread to nearby slums, putting many families at risk. Residents noticed the smoke and immediately contacted the fire department. Firefighters battled the raging fire throughout the night. They finally managed to gain control by 3:45 am on Thursday, but many homes and businesses were damaged. The Delhi Fire Service reported that the fire destroyed around 300 to 400 slums. The cause of the fire remains unknown. The fire department was alerted about the incident at 11:50 pm, and approximately 23 fire engines rushed to the location. After several hours of hard work, the fire was contained. Thankfully, there are no reports of injuries or fatalities. Investigations into what caused the fire are currently in progress. In a separate incident early Thursday morning, another fire broke out on the third floor of a private company near the Phase 2 police station in Noida. Seven fire engines were deployed to the scene and successfully controlled the fire. Officials stated that there were no immediate reports of injuries or casualties from this incident. Police and relevant authorities have arrived and are now investigating the situation. More information regarding the fire's cause and the damage it caused is pending. Additionally, a fire also erupted late Tuesday night in the Raiganj area of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, affecting multiple clothing stores.
