EU countries joining US, Israel attacks would become Iran s “legitimate target”, Deputy Minister says

Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated in an interview with France 24 that European Union countries that support U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran would be considered "legitimate targets" by Iran. He explained, “Any nation that participates in the aggression against Iran, siding with America and Israel, will also be seen as a legitimate target for Iran’s retaliation.” Some EU nations, including France, Greece, and Italy, have deployed warships to the Middle East. While many top EU officials have condemned Iranian attacks in the area, they are mainly advocating for an end to the conflict and seeking a diplomatic resolution. On Friday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz mentioned that Berlin is collaborating with partners to find a way to stop the fighting with Iran, while also expressing that Germany aligns with the goals of the U.S. and Israel.
