A significant amount of cannabis, worth about Rs. 14 million, was confiscated in the Ilukpelsa Reserve in Haldummulla. The seizure occurred during a special operation that was based on information from the intelligence unit of the Sri Lanka Army. This operation involved collaboration with officers from Haldummulla Police, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandarawela Police Division, and a team from the Special Task Force. Authorities found around 140 kilograms of cannabis that were ready for sale. The Haldummulla Police are continuing to investigate this case.
