The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is set to send a team to Sri Lanka soon to restart talks about economic policies. This will be part of the fifth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). Evan Papageorgiou, who leads the IMF Mission to Sri Lanka, mentioned that plans are underway for IMF officials to return to the country to continue the review discussions. He also pointed out that the reform program supported by the IMF is still on track, even with the effects of Cyclone Ditwah, and is being carried out as scheduled.
