Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been called to appear at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID). She received a notice on January 23, asking her to come today, January 27, at 9:00 a.m. to provide a statement. The FCID mentioned that this summons is part of their ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct linked to a bank account named 'Siriliya' from Mahinda Rajapaksa’s time in office. This investigation first began during the 'Yahapalanaya' government. Additionally, a notice was sent to Namal Rajapaksa, the National Organizer of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and a Member of Parliament, requiring him to report to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday, January 26. SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam confirmed that the notice was issued in the morning while Namal Rajapaksa was on an official trip to India.
