Today, Katunayake recorded the highest temperature in Sri Lanka at 34.6°C, according to the Department of Meteorology. In contrast, Nuwara Eliya saw the lowest temperature at 19.0°C. The meteorological officials also mentioned that light rain might happen tomorrow (27) in the Northern, North-central, and Eastern provinces. Additionally, some areas in the Sabaragamuwa province, as well as Galle and Matara districts, could experience rain or thunderstorms after 2:00 p.m. Strong winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h, are likely at times in the eastern slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, North-western, Eastern, and Uva provinces, along with Matara and Hambantota districts.
