Two fishing boats and 11 people were captured by the Sri Lanka Navy because they were believed to be carrying a large amount of drugs in the deep sea off the southern coast. These boats were taken to the Dikkowita Fisheries Harbour. The Navy used special long-range ships to find and stop the two trawlers, according to Navy Media Spokesperson Commander Buddhika Sampath. He mentioned that five people were on one boat and six on the other when they were caught. It is thought that about 270 kilograms of drugs were on the fishing vessels. The Navy will hand over the two boats and the 11 suspects to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for more investigation.
