The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) announced it will begin an indefinite strike across Sri Lanka starting tomorrow, January 26. This move comes after the Ministry of Health reportedly did not follow through on previously agreed solutions. During a press conference today, January 25, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, the GMOA Secretary, mentioned that the strike will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will impact government hospitals nationwide. Recently, the GMOA also held a 48-hour token strike beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, to support several demands.
