Sri Lanka welcomed over 194,000 tourists in the first 22 days of 2026, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The peak day for arrivals was January 15, when 10,483 tourists came to the country. Among the visitors, India had the most arrivals with 35,177 people. This was followed by Russia with 19,930, the United Kingdom with 19,893, and Germany with 12,822 tourists.
