The Cabinet of Ministers in Sri Lanka has approved a new digital card system for fueling government vehicles. This system aims to make it easier to pay for fuel expenses online, promoting transparency and efficiency while reducing the need for personal oversight. A state bank, working with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, has already set up a digital fueling system for vehicles. The Cabinet has approved a proposal from the President to use this method for fueling pool vehicles at the Presidential Secretariat as a trial project. If this pilot is successful, the same approach will be considered for other government institutions.
