The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) reports that recent updates from the Department of Meteorology indicate a change in the path of the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, located southeast of Sri Lanka. This shift has decreased the anticipated rainfall impact on the divisional secretariat divisions in the Central Highlands. As a result, residents in these regions do not need to evacuate, as previously advised. The NBRO stated it will keep the public informed based on future weather predictions and rainfall developments. Therefore, people are encouraged to stay alert and monitor updates closely.
