Sri Lanka records highest-ever annual tourist arrivals in 2025

Sri Lanka has achieved a new record for tourist arrivals in a calendar year, reaching 2,333,797 visitors in 2025 as of December 29. The milestone was marked by an Indian tourist from Thiruvananthapuram, who flew in on a SriLankan Airlines flight. This new number exceeds the previous record of 2,333,796 tourists set in 2018, which had been the highest annual total in the nation's history.
