The Department of Railways has announced extra train services for the Christmas season, school holidays, and the long weekend at the end of the year. A special express train will run from Maradana to Matara today, December 24, at 3:00 p.m. Moreover, another special train will leave Matara Railway Station at 5:00 a.m. on December 29, arriving at Colombo Fort at 8:30 a.m. Additionally, the Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai Intercity Express will operate on December 25 and December 28. This train will feature nine air-conditioned first-class carriages.
