Inaugural flight from Poland to Sri Lanka for winter season lands at BIA
The first flight from Poland to Sri Lanka for the winter season arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night (23). The Smart Wings Airlines aircraft landed at BIA from Warsaw, Poland, at 10:10 p.m. A Boeing 737 was used for this inaugural journey, bringing 180 passengers and nine crew members. Smart Wings plans to run weekly flights every Tuesday from Warsaw to Colombo until March 15, 2026. Travelers on these flights are likely to explore popular tourist spots in Sri Lanka, such as the coastal regions, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Yala. Upon arrival, the group of Polish tourists was greeted by officials from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
