LNP - NPP hands over motion to remove Deshabandu Tennakoon

The National People’s Power (NPP) has handed over a motion to the Speaker seeking the removal of suspended IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon. A group of NPP MPs has handed over the motion to Speaker Jagath Wickramarathne in Parliament today. Deshabandu Tennakoon was remanded until April 03 by the Matara Magistrate’s Court in connection with a shooting incident near a hotel in the Pelena area of Weligama in 2023.
