In the wake of the Sri Lanka Cricket team winning the Asian Championships, former sports minister MP Namal Rajapaksa said this is just the beginning of victories and there’s many more to come.
He said it does not matter who is the minister of sports and that there will be more victories if they don’t interfere with the system.
The former minister said that he was criticized when the Sri Lanka team was losing games for bringing a new captain, team mates and when fitness was made mandatory.
“Sports is in my blood. I tried to bring the sports up to re-build it and not to build myself. I have created enemies from our own camp because of some sports council election as I have not helped them. I know how hard it is for the players to play games when someone interferes with the system,” he said.
