20th Amendment gazetted;Election in three provincial councils postponed

The 20th constitutional amendment for holding elections in all provincial councils on the same day has now been gazetted.

Accordingly the elections in three provincial councils scheduled to be announced in October have also been postponed.

The gazette notification published on 28th July as the 20th constitutional amendment has been dated 3rd August.

while it has been proposed to select  a representative from each provincial council on the same day, the gazette notification says that parliament will decide the date.

Accordingly the dissolution of all provincial councils will also take place on the same day.

It is mentioned in the gazette notification that the date concerned should not be scheduled for beyond the day of the end of the tenure of the  provincial council
