Hirdramani factory in Sri Lanka’s north gets top green stamp.

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Hirdramani group said its new factory in Puthukudiyruppu, in the north of the island, has got a top green standard from a US-based certification body.

Hirdaramani Woven Puthukudiyruppu, factory has been given the LEED Platinum certificate by the US green building council, the firm said.

Commenting on this significant achievement, Akshay Hirdaramani – Director, Hirdaramani Group said, “We are very proud of this accomplishment by the team at Woven Puthukudiyruppu and how fast this factory has progressed in a short period of time.

“The LEED certification was achieved with minimal incremental investment thanks to the optimized design of the factory’s ventilation and lighting system. Once again, this demonstrates that investing into a good design at the outset pays rich dividends in the end,” Akshay Hirdaramani – Director, Hirdaramani Group said in a statement.

Hirdaramani Woven Kahathuduwa had also scored high on the LEED points. The group said it has six LEED certified facilities in Sri Lanka.
